Beauty Ritual

Don't you just love spending a little more time for yourself after a long week or just an hour of getaway for yourself? Giving to others is a good thing, but we also shouldn't forget to give to ourselves. Self-love is a bliss! It all takes on what YOU like in this beauty ritual. There is no limit how long you wanted to do it, but what feels good to your body.

Just couple of hours ago, I did felt I was depleted after a long week at work and I knew I needed some time for myself -- and that means no distractions. When my husband sees me make some concoction in the kitchen, he knew I did not want to be disturbed for few minutes and just let myself be. I am happy he understands how much this means to me.

To make it a more seductive experience, you can light a scented candle or spray a little perfume and play a soft music as the background. I really like vanilla. And optional: pull a mirror to see your lovely self. Yes, I took a large mirror. But if it too much, start slow. There is no rush to this beauty ritual. Take your time.

The best part of it is slowly spreading this treat on your face and/or body. Enjoy the messiness! I mixed milk, honey and a ripe banana and slowly slather my body with this delicious treat. You can add a few drops of Frankincense or Ylang Ylang essential oil for more luxurious beauty ritual. Choose essential oils that are gentle to the skin.

One of the things I have learned, is listening to my body as I apply it with absolute care. Delicately apply and feel how the mixture glides on the skin. What do you see? Hear? Smell? You can also do breast massage. Leave it for 5-10 minutes or as long as you want, then wash it off with a warm towel and take a warm bath. Apply a generous amount of coconut oil to moisturize or your favorite lotion. Drink a glass of your favorite green smoothie afterwards or tea if you prefer. Your skin will not only feel soft and radiant, but you will also feel good doing these rituals for yourself.

Every beauty ritual is different to me and you. It still lies to what makes YOU feel good. Personalize it on what makes you happy. It is such a wonderful gift when we give to ourselves first. It replenishes us on the inside out feeling rejuvenated, beautiful and sexy.

When the Yoni Egg Is Not Ready

I had my yoni egg yesterday. It feels like it misses to be snuggled inside of me. I could hardly feel it, but it feels good to have my Rose Quartz yoni egg in me.

For the last few months, I have been thinking way lot and I noticed how it drains me. I was out of sync with my body. Just being able to sink into my body even for few minutes takes a load off my shoulders. I did also felt my intimate space wanted the yoni egg so much. Between my Rose Quartz and the Mahogany Obsidian, I chose the Rose Quartz for myself... or was it my womb that chose it for me?

I was a little scared at first like it was the beginning of everything. It feels nice after I inserted it and continued my day with stuff. It's nice to sink my attention once in a while in my womb and know it is there to support me in subtle ways. I had my egg in me for 12 hours.

My period started so I had to push my egg out because it is not recommended during moon cycles. I caught the egg and I could feel my yoni egg was not ready to leave my body. I buried my yoni egg to recharge itself.

I love this Spiritual Practice. I do think every woman needs to celebrate that space she has and not be ashamed of. It feels luxurious to use these crystal eggs inside our yoni as we get to know more about our body and make us feel good.

I do not know when I'd be purchasing my third yoni egg. I just don't feel it right now, but am excited for that day to come.

I saved this soap for last to cleanse my face. (I do also have another V&M soap I also saved for last to use for my face with) I have read an article about the benefits of Pink Himalayan Salt, and I knew I just got to try it out.

I used this cleansing bar for 2 months to wash my face twice a day and it leaves my skin clean and supple. It has a beautiful pink color and does not have any fragrance at all. It did not dried my skin nor did it caused redness. It made my skin look really nice, dewy and glow.

Moisturizing and gentle to my skin. This soap makes me want to eat it as it reminds me of a bowl of fresh strawberries and milk. What's even surprising is that this bar comes in color PINK! Why? Because most of their soaps come in a white bar of soap in whatever variant it was. Lovely, isn't it? The tiny microbeads that exfoliate my skin do okay, but not to what I consider 'invigorating'. It is cold processed soap and free of harmful chemicals... and it is in pink! Remember that! :3

Both their Vanilla Exfoliating Bar and this Strawberry Exfoliating Bar are both my favorite! I wonder what other fun soaps would they come up with.

Venus & Mars Naturals Whitening Underarmour

Commercial deodorants as we all know has harmful chemicals that will affect negatively to our body and one of the culprit of dark underarms. I even doubt if it really lightens underarms in a matter of weeks like they claim. Well, lucky for some, but for the majority, it makes us shun away to wear sleeveless top. I stay away from these types of deodorant and I am really picky what to use for my delicate underarms.

Underarmour is especially formulated to extremely whiten and smooth dark, bumpy underarms as it keeps you cool and fresh throughout the day. It may be used even by people with sensitive skin. It also comes with a very refreshing scent, which will surely de-stress, keep you fresh and brighten your mood all day long! Comes in two variant: ACAI + MULBERRY or ALOE VERA + LICORICE MINT

I bought an each of these deodorants. It was on sale when I bought last year at the World Trade Center.  I have bought V&M's original deodorant years ago were it comes in a green spray bottle. It made me smell fresh all day and lightened my skin in a few months while pairing it with other whitening products. They all worked together!

Now they come in a dark bottles, to which from my knowledge, protects the "sensitive ingredients" from being exposed to the sun. But even still, I still store it somewhere it is not reached from the damaging sunlight... just to be sure. I am not much into the white sticker with labels written of the product thing. I kind of fancy the colorful and cute designs they put out in their soaps than this.

Since I got good results from their "original" deodorant, I have decided to try their new deodorants. Not only it has emu oil and other ingredients that will leave my underarms looking smooth and clean, I am not worried if it will cause irritation or darken my underarms. Just give it a quick shake and spray it, done. Both of these variants smell nice especially the ALOE VERA + LICORICE MINT because it leaves a wonderful peppermint scent. Though the price per bottle is expensive, I'm happy to say it lasted 5-6 months of use. Did it kept me fresh all day along? Yes to an extent as long as I do not run errands left and right especially out in the sun, or a sudden rush of adrenaline coming straight at me. If I am at home or in an air conditioned office, this would work tremendously.

I did also paired it with V&M's CPC+G Oil. (I'll still make a review on that!) I dabbed a little of this and sprayed this deodorant to see if it worked, but sadly, after 5-6 months, it did NOT lighten my skin. Maybe a teeny bit it did lighten, but it wasn't an overall drastic change. I was expecting a lot out on this product since they come in new packaging and new formulas.

Would I buy it again? Yes I would. Only because it is a trusted brand I have used for a few years and my skin did not irritate at all. Natural deodorants are hard to find these days that also work well for my body chemistry. (Though there is a part of me that wanted to create my own deodorant. I found a homemade deodorant recipe on Youtube a week ago.) For now, I can't jump around and test another deo because we all know underarms are very sensitive; a slight irritation means embarrassing dark spot in that area! But if I did ever find something better, and done my research, why not?

It had been years since I used this facial cleanser from Trader Joe's. Someone bought it for me because this person knew I loved the product. You can read my old review here if you want to. I am almost ran out of my other facial wash, so this came in just in time.

I have noticed something different every time I wash my face with this product. I tried ignoring it for a week, but it just was not 'gentle' on my skin. It almost feels like, the cleanser was a little harsh, heavy and... my skin was not getting that "happy vibe" at all. I did not like the scent of this. It made my face and neck slightly irritated. There were times throughout the day I would scratch my skin for a bit. I was alarmed! I immediately switched to another product and my skin is happy now.
