Asian Secrets: Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub

I love to exfoliate my body! One of my favorite scrubs that I can't live without is the Asian Secrets: Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub with Green Tea and Vitamin E (quite a mouthful!). There are also two more variants of Asian Secrets body scrubs such as the Licorice and Mulberry and Seaweed and Vitamin E. I have been using this brand for almost a year now, and this has never failed me to achieve a smooth skin. It's like adding that EXTRA love which I can see and feel results. The scent is just divine and so feminine. I see to it to have a tub of this at home, and get myself some back-ups when I see I am almost out of this stuff!

Did I mention that I've using this for a year? Yes I did.

I was curious about this product when it was aired in a commercial. I was intrigued especially after I've learned more about Lulur:

Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub is a beauty treatment inspired by a most luxurious Indonesian ritual called Lulur. The ritual was originally intended for the bride-to-be in order to beautify, smoothen, and whiten her skin before her wedding day. Lulur originated from the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia and  products inspired by this traditional treatment are still used by Indonesian women today.

I want that kind of pampering -- NOT just in my wedding -- but throughout the whole year! It just makes any girl feel extra special while scrubbing away their dead skin and reveal the 'new' skin underneath. And so I bought it, and I instantly got myself raving about it.

What I love about this product beside of the scent it has, is the that it has these tiny beads which has grainy feel. It's also creamy and easily spreads on to the skin. It is white in color. This is the kind of scrub that I love to use once a week; before I take a shower. Use the product on dry skin; you don't need water or some sort to work on this scrub to your skin. I tend to apply this on my feet, up to my legs. I let it work and remove as much dead skin using friction with my hands. It may take some patience, but it will grant fabulous results after.

I don't know if other people use it to their face and/or underarms, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. It could cause some capillary damages, or (intense?) darkening of the skin for such sensitive areas on the body. This is an intense procedure. This is the kind of scrub you get your hands to work to actually see the dead skin literally on the floor. Yes, you will see lumps of them laying on the floor so don't forget to sweep! Patience is still the key.

The good part of this after you washed the product, and slather some lotion just makes one feel like a new person! It feels smooth, clean and just feel the difference. Some prefer to leave out their body lotion just because it already feels soft and moisturized by using this product, or some prefer to apply this product and rinse off. With these ingredients: Tocopheryl acetate, Mineral Oil, Camellia Sinensis extract, Olive Oil, Glycerin, Squaline, Dimethicone, Titanium dioxide it will leave your skin feeling smooth. But I think it still best to apply lotion after taking a shower. Got to have that extra moisture!

It also has an indication for the expiration date of the product.

This product did mention though that it can whiten the skin. I've been using it for a year, and I don't see the changes unless someone tells me. By 'whitening', I am not sure if it can help gradually change the color of one's skin. Perhaps it could mean that by whitening the skin is by using the product on the regular basis (I don't mean using it everyday because that's bad!), the dead skin are sloughed off.... thus, the "fresh and new" skin is revealed. That's what I think about it; I don't focus too much on the 'whitening' effects because what I am really after is the scrub and the rejuvenating feel I get after I used this.

UPDATE:
I forgot to mention that the product has an expiry date to it. You can find a picture in this post. Also, a 250g costs Php130, while a 135g costs Php80.

This is such a treat after a long week!
I REALLY LOVE THIS SCRUB! This is a must-have.

RoC Multi-Correxion Eye Treatment Review

This is my first eye cream I've ever used in my entire life, and I needed a product to help me prevent the signs of aging around my eyes. It's already been a year ago, I started to notice wrinkles in my eye area. The horror it was when I saw that little wrinkle forming. It was also little dry on my eye area because of the sudden change of weather! Concerned I was, I walked to a not-so-faraway drugstore called Walgreens because I've seen commercials about women who used this product. I thought to use something "powerful" to help me combat it. I was skeptical at first, but what do I have to lose? I've never met anyone who used the RoC Multi-Correxion Eye Cream, but I am going to give this a try now before this wrinkle in eye gets even worse!

According to their website, this breakthrough formula contains an exclusive fusion of age-fighting ingredients specially formulated for the delicate eye area. RoC® MULTI CORREXION® Eye Treatment diminishes the look of dark circles and wrinkles for more luminous eyes. Would you believe I bought this product since last year? Yes it's been a year! Around December 2011! This baby's been with me for a year and I can't believe this 15ml (0.5 fl oz) tube helped me fought that stubborn wrinkle, and help reduce my puffy eyes making me looking less tired by morning. It's a long process, and this product helped me minimize my eye problem. I forgot how much I paid for this in Walgreens, but I believe it was less than $20 because it was on sale that day.

Here's what it says on the back.

Though the package says it can be used by morning and night, I use this product when I am about to sleep. I dab a small amount of the product on my ring finger and gently dab it on my eye area. It has a white creamy consistency into it and it slides easily around the eyes. It didn't caused me any rash or redness. The scent is okay. Since it took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to write a review, the next photo I am about to show is the product itself, at the back of my hand, when the cream has turned yellow when I squeezed a pea-size out of the tube. Again, it is supposed to be white, not yellowish.

Please tell it hasn't expired yet!

I had no idea when was the expiration date because the box (thrown away a year ago) didn't indicated when. I was thinking it would take 2 years, or so before the active ingredients were worn out. I was thinking of 'saving' this eye cream as much as I can because I've never seen this product elsewhere here in the Philippines. But if there is, I bet it would be expensive! Since there's still more eye cream inside this tube, I ought to use it before changing to a different line in RoC. It's been a week or two now applying the yellow eye cream; it didn't have that awful scent, and it didn't gave me rash, redness or 'burning' feeling which I am thankful for -- but hopefully, there are still some active ingredients in it. I really hoped it wasn't expired though because I don't want to throw away such a wonderful product without using every bit of it!

This is a good product, and it helped me brighten and moisturize my eyes helping me get rid of the tired-look. It really is worth the price -- it's not that expensive, and it is easy to find in any drugstore products --- and it does work for me! I would definitely repurchase again!

I don't solely use an eye cream to help me minimize my eye problems. It is still wise to get beauty sleep around 7-8 hours at night, increase water intake, lessen rubbing of eyes, and give a good pampering once a week like putting cucumber on the eyes, or chilled green tea bags. It makes a difference! It makes me feel so relaxed.

My Blog

How I came up with the name:

Would you have guessed I just thought about my blog name, Skin-cerely Yours just yesterday afternoon? I was eating salad in my chair while brainstorming of names. I was obviously THAT excited to create a blog, and I wanted it to be something funky and fresh.

I was thinking what word(s) I can add for BEAUTY and/or SKIN because the blog I wanted to make is beauty-related. It is really easy to tell for readers what kind of blog I am in to. Minutes later, the phrase, "Sincerely Yours" (The 'closing' part of a letter) popped in my head out of nowhere! Then I realized I am already in to something... thus, the name SKIN-CERELY YOURS is born. :)

I think it has a nice touch to it on every blog I post on here out.

I LOVE IT!

Why I had to come back blogging:

I had a blogger account once were I post random stuff anything I may fancy. I don't call myself an 'active blogger', however I blog whenever I feel like it. But time came that I considered of deleting my previous blog. It was easy just like that, but soon thanks to inspiration and creativity, I decided to blog again and just have fun.

Skin-cerely Yours,
Chloe

The Introduction

How I've missed blogging so much! I've been a subscriber to a lot of beauty gurus in Youtube, and have read quite a handful of blogs online to give me different perspectives on beauty products today --- and these people inspire me to create my own place in the World Wide Web where I talk skin care, writing --- and a little bit about food.

I used to shun skin-related products back in school; I have oily and acne-prone skin. I was a little boyish, and I find myself excuses thinking my skin can live up on its own without the "girly and expensive beauty products". I guess it will not surprise you if I told you I had bad acne. Yes, I had poor (or, zilch) skin regimen, and I need answers on how to get rid of them! To keep my story short, I slowly introduced myself to the "girly stuff" that I think that will help me in my acne problem. There were a lot of trials and errors, but I knew I shouldn't give up and I had to go out there and try other products, while doing my little research on how to keep skin clear and dewy.

Years forward, I am happy to see the improvements I have on my skin. I am not saying I have the perfect skin, but it did improved in so much ways. My diet and skin care regimen helped me a lot, and I am still in the lookout to try and learn more what's best for my skin in the market today -- and that's why I am eager to share my honest opinion (the good and the bad) on products I've tried, and talk about them to people who also share the same interests as I have.

I am not a beauty professional; I am an average girl who loves to shop for great skin care finds.

Skincerely Yours,
Chloe
